The redness of the eyes, the itching and swelling of the eyes are common nowadays. These symptoms usually occur as a result of sleep deprivation, often spending long time in front of the computer or TV, because of weakened immunity and allergy.
The unpleasant symptoms of “red eye” can be eased with these simple homemade remedies.
Mix 3 tablespoons of honey with a cup of hot water or milk. Wait for the mixture to cool down, and then put a few drops into the eye, two to three times a day. The redness can be reduced if you soak cotton gauze in this mixture and use it as a coating.
Cut a potato on circles and place it on the inflamed eye. Leave it to act for at least 20 minutes. Repeat the procedure three days in a row.
Mix 2 tablespoons of turmeric powder with 200 ml of water, and use this fluid as a lining for the eye. Turmeric is listed as a natural antibiotic that is proven to reduce the inflammation in the body.
