Foot soaks are a popular type home remedies that fight foot odor.
Foot soaks commonly have three types of action:
1. Apple Cider Vinegar Soak
It is said that this liquid helps with losing weight, digestive problems, sinusitis and allergies.
This vinegar eliminates bacteria and dries excess sweat, which are the main causes of foot odor. Also, this remedy is very cheap.
It has antibacterial characteristics, mainly because of the phenolics and acetic acid. The acidity of the vinegar removes foul odor and reduces the sweat build up.
Add a half cup of apple cider vinegar into a quart of warm water and soak your feet for 20 minutes. Soak twice weekly or more often if needed.
2. Epsom Salt Foot Soaks
Epsom salt is rich in magnesium sulphate and works great as a foot soak for stinky feet. Epsom salt neutralizes foot odor, and also it makes skin softer, reduces inflammation and even soothes aching feet.
Add half a cup of Epsom salt in about 10 cups of warm water and soak your feet for 30 minutes. Do this two times daily for best results.
3. Lemon Water Soak
Lemon is an astringent as well. Lemon will aid with excessive sweating. It should shrink pores where as the citric acid present in lemon kills bacteria. The fresh scent of lemon serves as a natural deodorant.
