1. Keep your feet elevated.

Kick back, literally, and get your feet propped up. Spider and varicose veins pop up because of pressure on your legs and poor circulation. Keep your feet resting above your heart.

2. Wear compression socks.

Compression stockings help improve circulation by squeezing your legs during the day. You don’t need a prescription but your doctor can give you advice on how long to wear them. They’re inexpensive and can be found in just about any pharmacy.

3. Wear low-heeled shoes.

High heels create pressure on the calves in particular which can worsen varicose veins. Instead, wear low-heeled shoes to improve circulations.

4. Take a cold shower.

5. Don’t cross your legs.
Crossing your legs can actually lead to varicose veins. It does so by cutting off circulation.

6. Avoid tight-fitting pants.

7. Decrease your salt intake.

Salt intake that is too high is a major cause of spider veins. Limit your intake if you’re prone to them.

8. Keep the weight off.

If you’re heavy, lose weight. If you aren’t, keep the weight off. Extra weight puts pressure on your veins, causing them to bulge.
