Due to this condition, we all usually use lip balms. Having said that, it is better to quit using lip balms from the stores and begin using a product from nature – coconut oil. Remove dry skin on your lips using this lip scrub:
Mix 1 teaspoon of sea salt and 1 teaspoon of coconut oil
Apply the mixture on your lips and make small round moves with your fingers
Do this around a minute
At the end wash using a cloth and pat your lips dry
Begin to use coconut oil as an alternative for lip balm. Apply a small amount from the oil on your lips several times daily.
Prepare your own lip balm at home:
Mix 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, 1 tablespoon of olive oil and ¾ teaspoon of honey
Use a spoon to mix, all the ingredients
Next, store the resulted mixture in a small container with a lid. Use it during the day.
Coconut oil could be combined with olive oil or any other oil too. The resulted mixture may be used on a regular basis or only before going to bed, so that it can work overnight. This mixture is quite helpful and protects your lips from the cold weather.
If licking the lips is your habit, coconut oil could make the chapping even worse because of pleasant taste. Therefore, try less palatable product like wheat germ oil or beeswax.
