“I thank the media which took up the issue”
Before leaving for Mumbai, Jogawat said that a “wrong and insulting” tweet by Shobhaa De has changed his life.
“I thank the media which took up the issue after the tweet by Shobhaa De. Hopefully, I will get a better life,” Jogawat told before leaving for Mumbai last night. Jogawat was mocked by columnist Shobhaa De over his obesity in a tweet last week when the municipal election was underway. Jogawat started gaining weight following a gall bladder operation in 1993.
“A team representing Dr Lakdawala had approached us”
Neemuch district Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Singh told Jogawat left his home in Neemuch for Mumbai with his son in his car Sunday morning, and reached the city late on Sunday. “A team representing Dr Lakdawala had approached us saying they would like to help Inspector Jogawat lose weight. We readily agreed. While the doctors will undoubtedly do their best, the Madhya Pradesh Police will extend all possible help to the inspector through our police medical scheme,” Singh said.
